Ever since I was a little kid I remember being obsessed with books. Every weekend my father and I would go to our local library and pick out bed time stories for the week ahead. It was always my favorite part of the week. That was how my elementary school years went.
By middle school I was taking my allowance money and spending it on books. Where I would come home and consume them in one sitting. Shortly after that I discovered that the books I was reading was not up to literary level. I began seeking out heavier books to get into.
By this time the year was 2000 and I was in high school. It was here that I first met, what would soon become an obsession, Harry James Potter. I fell in love with the series time and time again. I thank J.K. Rowling for my continue love and obsession with reading something that I will never get over.
Some people ask why, why do you read so much? And the question is always simple, because for a moment I can be someone else. I can travel without ever needing to leave me home, I can slay dragons, I can cast magical spells, I can play quidditch, I can be anything or anyone. Isn't that enough?
